Students from many parts of the world are calling for a global strike for education
Like teachers, students are in the forefront of the struggle for free and emancipatory public education. Often – as in Chile and Spain for example teachers and students support each other in their struggles. Now the students, through the platform of the International Student Movement are calling for global education strikes on October 8th and November 14-21 this year. If teachers are to win this struggle against neo-liberal policies of cuts, privatisation, deprofessionalisation and the increasing domination of education by the needs of corporations, they will need to turn out not only to other groups, like the students, but also to teachers, students and communities all over the world. The students have taken the initiative to call international action. They are asking teachers to look at their website and consider how they can support this call.

Great to see the GLOBAL EDUCATION STRIKE being supported by teachers as well.
By the way, the day of action in October is on the 18th
Let’s make use of the technologies we have and connect and unite in our struggle!
